Necrolyte's Marker Stand
Are you tired of going to the field, and having people knock around your gear
PBf Feedback:
Build this simple marker stand to save room on the table, and keep your marker safe from getting scratched up!
You'll need a few basic supplies, and a trip to Lowes to get you started.
Below you'll find a list of tools and parts needed to build (1) one marker stand.
When doing this write up, I was in the middle of building (10) ten marker stands.
Total cost of this project should be around $8. I sell these for $15 locally.
If you'd rather me build one for you, they would be around $18 shipped.
Tools Needed:
Hacksaw / Chopsaw / Pipe Cutters
Scissors
PVC Glue
Material List:
(4) 1/2" Sched 20 PVC Pipe - 12" Long
(3) 1/2" Sched 20 PVC Pipe - 1" Long
(1) 1/2" Sched 20 PVC Pipe - 3.5" Long
(1) 1/2" Sched 20 PVC Pipe - 2" Long
(2) 1/2" Couplings
(1) 1/2" T Fitting
(4) 1/2" Elbow Fittings
(1) 3/4" to 1/2" Reducer T Fitting
(1) 1/2" Compression Fitting
(2) 1/2" PVC Insulation - 10.5" Long
Parts Needed
Gotta have glue!
Parts needed to make one stand.
12" Long 1/2" Sched 20 PVC Pipe
1" Long 1/2" Sched 20 PVC Pipe
Enough parts for 10 Stands
1/2" Pipe Insulation, 10.5" Long
Instructions
1) Start by cutting the reducer T in half.
2) Back half of the stand.
Need (2) Elbows, (1) 1" PVC, (2) 12" PVC, (2) Insulation, (2) Couplings
Glue elbows to one side of the 12" PVC. Next slide pipe insulation over 12" PVC pieces, and then glue the 1" Piece between elbows (MAKE SURE ASSEMBLY LAYS FLAT!)
Lastly, glue couplings onto other end of 12" PVC.
3) Front base assembly.
Need (2) 12" PVC, (2) 1" PVC, (1) Tee, (2) Elbows
Start by gluing an elbow on the ends of the 12" PVC.
Next glue two 1" PVC pipes into either end of the Tee.
Assemble the Tee with the pipes. DO NOT GLUE TEE TO ELBOWS! This is a swivel connection.
4) Barrel Support.
Need (1) 3.5" PVC, (1) 2" PVC, (1) Compression Fitting, (1) Reducer Tee (Cut)
Glue Tee to 3.5" Long PVC.
Glue 2" Long PVC to Front Base Assembly Tee.
Unscrew compression fitting, slide cap over 2" Long PVC, then slide rubber seal onto pipe.
Screw compression fitting back together onto base.
Unscrew other side of compression fitting and slide cap onto 3.5" Long PVC w/ attached Tee, slide rubber seal onto pipe.
Put pipe into compression fitting on base, and screw back together.
Before tightening down, adjust height for barrel.
5) Attach front base to back base at coupling.
You may glue if you like, or leave dry to break the stand down for easier packing.
Enjoy your new stand!
